All American Dogs

Early Times Kentucky Whisky launches second “All-American Dogs” contest for hometown advertising campaign

They’re the ultimate front door greeters and always up for a ball game. They’re your highest-efficiency vacuum making any sign of floor crumbs disappear in seconds, and your home’s watchful alarm system – especially in the presence of squirrels. They’ll demolish your favorite shoe, dig through the kitchen trash, and sometimes, they’ll take you for a walk. From the obedient retriever to the mischievous terrier, everyone’s four-legged friend is a hero in their home.

That’s why Early Times Kentucky Whisky today announced its nationwide search for “All-American Dogs” to serve as the furry faces of its 2020 hometown advertising campaign with a national social media contest. This is the second year of the popular contest that gives pet owners a chance to brag on their favorite member of the family. Last year, the brand had over 10,000 entries singing the praises of Chiuhahas to Great Danes.

“Since 1860, Early Times has been America's reliable, quality whisky,” said Early Times Senior Brand Manager Dallas Cheatham. “When we started talking about what being "All-American" means, we immediately thought of the loyalty and dependability that dogs bring to our own lives. It felt natural to connect with our Early Times drinkers by celebrating their amazing dogs. When we sifted through entries last year, there were a lot of heartfelt stories of man (and woman’s) best friend. It was amazing to hear about people saving dogs from dire situations- but equally awesome to hear about dogs saving their owners, both physically and emotionally. What an awesome thing that we ate Early Times get to celebrate that bond!”

The contest invites fans 21 and over to share a photo of their hound hero and explain why their pup embodies dependability and the “All-American” spirit. Early Times will select 10 dogs to be individually featured in a local hometown advertisement, in addition to receiving a custom Early Times whisky barrel dog house and inclusion in the brand’s 2021 All-American Dog Calendar.

Now through April 12th, consumers can enter for the chance to win by visiting the Early Times Facebook page at and sharing their submission on the designated contest post calling for entries.
