Get lost in the grandeur of the ship between decks and follow along from exhibit to stern. The ship features historical timepieces, recreations and an inside look into life at sea. Delve into the history of the top secret mission that could have changed the course of WWII in a fully guided 45-minute experience in the President’s Tour. View the Captain’s In Port Cabin and hear the stories about President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s historic trip across the Atlantic on board the IOWA in 1943. Dive into a deep sea overview of the luxury liner RMS Lusitania and uncover the sunken explorations of Dr. Robert Ballard in the Lost at Sea Exhibit and Art Gallery.
Board the neighboring Harbor Cruises and discover the LA Waterfront. Learn history about the port, view California sea lions playing in the harbor, the world famous Battleship USS Iowa, large cargo and container ships from all over the world, and much more. Round out the adventure with a high tech exhilarating ride with the US Navy’s Blue Angels team from the point of view as one of their pilots in the Flight Simulator VR Experience.
Explore deep within the ship’s down hatches, up ladders, into the lives of the battleship sailors throughout history. Dive deeper into the ship and below water level with the Gun Tour or the Engineering Tour. The Gun Tour offers visitors a behind-the-scenes journey that weaves through levels of the ship, never before opened to the public.
General Access Pass provides entry to the ship to enjoy self-guided tours of public areas of the vessel. General Access Pass includes an approximate 120 minute introductory overview self-guided tour aboard the historic Battleship IOWA, Vicky the Dog Scavenger Hunt, a visit to our general museum space with 360 degree panoramas, and shopping in our retail store. All guests are required to purchase a General Access Pass to tour the ship. General access passes start at $19.95 for adults (ages 12-61), $16.95 for seniors (ages 62+) and military & veterans and $11.95 for children (ages 3-11).
