An encouragement from Pastor Mike: Knowing and trusting God in times of trouble

In these time of crisis, upheaval, unprecedented change, fear, uncertainty, confusion, anxiety, and more, knowing God and placing our trust in Him helps. It’s like being unsteady on a slippery surface and we just need something stable to hold on to. God can be that for us.
Psalms 9:9-10 The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
This is mostly a Psalm of praise but a challenge to everyone in times of trouble. The challenge is to know who God is and trust in Him. For God can be that stronghold, that place of peace, the source of calm, that giver of wisdom and guidance. God can be all that for us as we understand His name. His name is who He is. What do you know about God?
God is with us!
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
God is all knowing and personal.
Psalms 139:1-3 O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
The Lord will give peace and rest.
Matthew 11:28 Come to me (Jesus), all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
God gives wisdom.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Oh, and there is more as we study God’s Word, the Bible. What could you learn about God this day? Maybe pull away from the news-feeds and just take a few minutes or more and read the Bible. Here is a link for a Bible on line. It is for Joshua 1:1-9 but you can put any verse address in there and press enter.
These are crazy times and together we will get through this and even thrive. Knowing God helps.
Another way to know God more is to attend church through live-stream. If you are looking for an option, Neighborhood Church is doing a live stream on Sunday at 9am, rebroadcasted at 11am, then will be on our Youtube channel after that. We would love for you to join us.
