Today, Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (CA-39) filled out the U.S. Census online. In videos posted on his social media accounts, Rep. Cisneros completed the census and urged California’s 39th District to fill it out by phone or online. As a result of the coronaviurs epidemic, the U.S. Census Bureau pushed back the 2020 census deadline by two weeks, from July 31st to August 14th.
“Our constitutionally-mandated census happens once every 10 years. With the coronavirus epidemic, I want to emphasize how easy and important it is for people to complete the census without having to meet a census canvasser in person,” said Rep. Cisneros. “From the comfort of your own home and in less than 10 minutes, the census can be done by phone, mail, or online. A fair and accurate count means that California’s 39th District gets the funding and support it needs and deserves. The success and growth of our hospitals, schools, small businesses, and first responders depend on every person’s participation in the census.”
On January 17, Rep. Cisneros hosted a town hall with California Secretary of State Alex Padilla to talk about the 2020 Census and Vote Centers.
On February 20, Rep. Cisneros condemned a census scam targeted at California’s 39th District.
On March 9, Rep. Cisneros launched 2020 Census videos, including ones subtitled in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean.
