1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.
At the climax of David’s reign, where he could have looked over all that was accomplished, and given praise and glory to himself, he recognizes God is the One to praise. In this verse, David is expressing God’s sovereign and boundless power, recognizing that God is the One who is in ultimate control and is of such regal grandeur that there is none higher. David credits God with the ultimate victory, whose magnificence, wealth and honor are of such greatness, there is none to compare.

It is good to dwell on the greatness of God, to recognize His regal grandeur and be in awe of His magnificence, to take it in and revel in the fullness of His splendor. God is in charge. God is at work. Nothing nor no one is more powerful. Like a wild lion He is not tame and does what He wills, and even in crisis and times of trouble, we can and should trust Him.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
