The County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) public benefits assistance call center operations have now resumed and the agency is once again accepting calls. This announcement comes after a call center outage was publicized earlier on April 7.
Orange County residents wishing to apply for or check on existing Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs or General Relief public assistance benefits may contact the call center at (800) 281-9799 or visit the online public assistance benefits portal at http://www.mybenefitscalwin.org.
Additionally, individuals only applying for CalFresh may also enroll through www.GetCalFresh.org and those wishing to apply for General Relief benefits also have the option to fax an application to (714) 825-3155.
“This morning’s call center outage was unexpected and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused our community,” said SSA Director Debra Baetz. She continued, “We appreciate the efforts our SSA staff, call system vendor and county partners made to quickly get the system back up and running and remain committed to our mission of providing accessible and responsive services to our vulnerable populations. We are pleased to accept calls once again to help our community during this challenging time.”
