March 30, 2020

Assist Other Department – 1:34 p.m. – 5500 block of Conifer Dr. – The fire department requested police assistance with a combative subject. The subject was reportedly showing signs of exciting delirium. A 45-year-old subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the hospital.
Vandalism Report – 6:04 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A male subject, reportedly broke property at the location. The business desired prosecution. Police arrested a 54-year-old subject for vandalism.

March 31, 2020

Identity Theft Report – 2:49 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – The caller reported an unauthorized charge of $1400 on a credit card. The victim advised that he had reported the identity theft to Los Alamitos Police Department and called the La Palma Police Department to report a fraudulent package was sent to the FedEx at the location. The victim requested LPPD respond to the location to try to identify the suspect. The manager at the FedEx was advised to contact LPPD if subjects arrived to retrieve the package and to not release the package.
Traffic Collision – 10:40 p.m. – Moody/La Palma – Police responded to a possible head-on collision with potential injuries. One driver was out of the vehicle and the vehicles appeared to be smoking. OCFA responded. Tow trucks were requested. All vehicles were removed from the roadway and a traffic collision report was taken.

April 1, 2020

Vehicle Check – 10:45 a.m. – 5400 block of Bransford Dr. – A vehicle had reportedly been parked at the location for two weeks. The vehicle was marked for 72 hours.
Counseling – 11:41 a.m. – 5300 block of Andrew Dr. – The caller requested counseling regarding a subject leaving a bag with tissue and an apple at his front door overnight.

April 2, 2020

Counseling – 9:30 a.m. – 4500 block of Cambury Dr. – The caller stated that she felt threatened by her sister. The caller stated at a $45 allowance was missing from an area normally left for her. The caller was possibly confused about what day it was. The caller left the area while the responding officer was on the phone with the other party and the officer was unable to recontact her. At the time there was no crime and there was a possible misunderstanding.
Lost/Stolen Property – 6600 block of Montaire St. – The rear license plate of the vehicle was reportedly stolen while the owner was at work in Cerritos. Report taken.

April 3, 2020

Citizen Assist – 7:51 a.m. – 5300 block of La Palma Ave. – A patient with dementia was reportedly refusing to go back into the building until the police arrived. Assisted.
Transient – 9:12 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – Police responded to a complaint of a male transient sleeping on the bus bench in a multi-colored baby blanket. The subject checked okay; he was waiting for the bus and had bus fare.

April 4, 2020

Unknown Trouble – 7:15 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – An unknown subject was reportedly sitting on the curb in front of the store stating “help, help.” Police contacted the subject, who was asking for help for directions. The subject checked okay and was sent on her way.
Family Fight – 7:48 p.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – The caller’s son was reportedly yelling at the caller, and the caller wanted the son to leave the residence. Police arrested a 27-year-old Moreno Valley resident for assaulting a peace officer and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer. The subject was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

April 5, 2020

Drunk in Public – 12:01 p.m. – 5700 block of Calaveras Cir. – A male subject was reportedly passed out on the front lawn. The caller believed that this was the second time. The subject was gone on the arrival of the police.
Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 11:37 p.m. – 5500 block of Maplewood Ave. – An unknown subject was reportedly screaming out of a vehicle stating “This is crazy.” The vehicle was last seen westbound on Maplewood. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

April 6, 2020

Vehicle Burglary – 11:52 a.m. – 7700 block of Valley View St. – Between April 5 at 2 p.m. and April 6 at 11 a.m., an unknown subject smashed a window on the driver’s side of the victim vehicle parked in the complex. Nothing appeared to be missing. Vehicle burglary report taken.
Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 10:39 p.m. – 7300 block of Spruce Cir. – The caller reported a vehicle not familiar to the neighborhood. Police contacted the driver, who checked okay and was advised of an expired driver’s license.
