Casa Youth Shelter continues services during COVID-19 crisis

Casa Youth Shelter specializes in helping adolescents and families in times of crisis. And in this time of tremendous challenge and change, I have never been more inspired by the way our community has responded, with compassion and kindness for those who need us most.

A public health crisis like the COVID-19 virus can cause uncertainty and stress for people of all ages and circumstances. For adolescents who are experiencing homelessness, or are already at increased risk of abuse or neglect, these times are especially scary. But no one needs to face these fears alone.

It is our people who make Casa Youth Shelter extraordinary. And I could not be more proud or grateful.

We continue to serve our mission to help youth and families in crisis through what has been a massive and rapid transition. Our team has stepped up in ways previously unimagined, dramatically changing our methods of delivering services so we can continue to provide shelter, food, and counseling to youth who need a safe space. Our staff is working tirelessly to ensure that our shelter remains safe and open 24/7. If a teenager finds themselves in an unsafe living situation, we are here. We have moved our counseling services and parenting classes online, and opened them to the public, for non-residents and their families who may need additional support during this time.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you or someone you know needs anything at all. We are here, and we are all in this together.
