Los Alamitos Virtual Recreation Activities Week Six

The Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department is committed to “Creating Quality of Life” for residents during these challenging times. During week six of our Virtual Community Center, we are continuing to offer you even more activities for the whole family to enjoy from the comfort of your home!

Los Alamitos Neighborhood Drive Thru

Front Yard Fort- Friday, May 1 from 3:00pm-5:00pm

Residents are encouraged to build a fort located in their front yard and to use stuffed animals and additional props as needed. There are three categories in which prizes will be awarded: Patriotic, North Pole themed, and Celebration-Themed Party. The winners will receive a $25 gift card to a Los Alamitos restaurant. Use #LosAlFrontYardFort in your social media post to win a prize.

Movie on Your Green- Friday, May 8 from 3:00pm-5:00pm

Residents are encouraged to replicate a scene from a movie in their front yard and to use stuffed animals and additional props as needed. There are three categories in which prizes will be awarded: Best Animation Movie, Best Superhero Movie, and Best Spooktacular Movie. The winners will receive a $25 gift card to a Los Alamitos restaurant. Use #LosAlMovieonYourGreen in your social media post to win a prize.

Create Your Own Theme Park- Friday, May 15 from 3:00pm-5:00pm

Residents are encouraged to create their own theme park in their front yard and to use stuffed animals and additional props as needed. There are three categories in which prizes will be awarded: Best Ride, Best Replica of an Existing Theme Park, and Best Original Concept. The winners will receive a $25 gift card to a Los Alamitos restaurant. Use #LosAlThemePark in your social media post to win a prize.

Mad Science at Home

Experiment with science at home! Join Mad Science in this Ghost Bubble experiment! Mad Science offers a variety of classes and camps at the Los Alamitos Community Center. Always remember to ask a parent or guardian for permission before starting an experiment.
