Rep. Rouda’s statement on reopening of Laguna Beach and San Clemente beaches

Congressman Harley Rouda (CA-48) issued the following statement regarding Governor Gavin Newsom’s decision to reopen Laguna Beach and San Clemente beaches:

“Throughout the coronavirus crisis, Laguna Beach has served as an example of common-sense city governance,” said Rouda. “Coastal communities across the United States should follow in their footsteps by proposing multi-stage reopening plans, which include limited hours and active use only.”

“As COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to increase throughout Orange County, we know our battle against the coronavirus is far from won. Other cities and the County should consider copying Laguna Beach’s blueprint and submit a detailed beach reopening plan to ensure all local residents’ physical and mental health is protected during this difficult time. I will continue to work with the Governor’s office and coastal Orange County leaders as we transition to a ‘new normal’ in the weeks and months to come.”

  1. California beach communities are united, OC has done a stellar job of governing setting ourselves apart of counties like LA. However one hypocrite named HARLY tells us to stand down, stay off the beaches while he walks around a swanky beach at night in Laguna Beach.

This man used Bloomberg money to buy this seat and its obvious he is kissing up to the elites here in our community, we will not let that seat stay occupied come November by Rouda.
