April 23, 2020
Extra Patrol Checks – 6:15 p.m. – 7000 block of Moody St. – The caller requested extra patrol checks overnight for a subject who was possibly casing the area earlier that day. The camera was also tampered with but it was unknown when that occurred. The caller was also concerned because another pharmacy a few miles away was broken into recently.
Foot Patrol – 11:03 p.m. – Coyote Creek/Walker Bridge – While on foot patrol, police contacted multiple subjects. A 31-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.
April 24, 2020
Suspicious Circumstances – 10:48 a.m. – Coyote Creek/Rampart – Two subjects were reportedly picking fruit in Coyote Creek. The caller advised that the subjects then went over the wall into a rear yard. Police contacted the subjects and confirmed that they were gardeners who hopped over the wall to trim a cactus. Checked okay.
Petty Theft – 5:07 p.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – Subject possibly took a straightening iron and Gatorade. Police contacted two subjects but no crime was confirmed. Two field interviews were taken.
April 25, 2020
Suspicious Subject – 10:32 a.m. – Rampart/Dumaine – A disheveled male was seen screaming and walking in the area. The subject checked okay for now and left the city.
April 26, 2020
Patrol Check – 4:26 a.m. – 5000 block of La Palma Ave. – Police were requested for possible tampering with a dryer for towels. Other units were requested to patrol check the area. No immediate damage was found.
Disturbance (Party) – 6:28 p.m. – Windsong/Wickham – The caller reported a loud party. Police determined that there was a surprise birthday party for the resident and the guests left.
Found Property – 6:41 p.m. – La Palma/Walker – A license plate was found. The owner of the plate advised that she lost the plate approximately three months prior and already had replaced the plate through the DMV. The plate was returned to the owner.

Assist Other Department – 3:32 p.m. – 5200 block of La Luna Dr. – Police assisted Code Enforcement with an inspection of a pool.
Burglary Report – 9:33 p.m. – 6600 block of Montaire St. – The caller reported a possible residential burglary. The front door was wide open and the residence ransacked. Police confirmed that the rear door was smashed and the front door w as wide open. Police checked the interior and confirmed a burglary had occurred. The loss was approximately $300 in coins. Burglary report taken.

Suspicious Circumstances – 1:25 p.m. – 7900 block of Birchwood Cir. – The caller reported a female screaming, possibly from a residence on Birchwood. Police spoke with a mail carrier who advised that he had been in the area for approximately 15 minutes and did not hear any screaming. Police checked the area and spoke with multiple subjects and no screaming was heard.
Petty Theft – 8:59 a.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – A female subject reportedly took two bottles of Nexium and left in a vehicle. The caller also reported a male subject in the bathroom who wrote on the mirror, defecated on himself, and put feces on the toilet bowl, and possibly took paper towels as well. Report taken.
April 29, 2020
Fraud/Forgery – 5:37 p.m. – 7500 block of Trabuco Ln. – An unknown subject had the reporting party’s banking information and was sending the reporting party harassing text messages. The loss was $446.36. Report taken.
Assist Other Department – 11:28 p.m. – Walker/Crescent – La Palma Police assisted in the pursuit of a vehicle. A passenger was detained and one subject was outstanding. Police detained a subject at gunpoint and took the subject into custody.
