County accepts donated face masks and shields to protect first responders

On Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th, Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors received generous donations from two organizations to assist with first responders and the Orange County communities.

On Thursday, May 7th, Chairwoman Steel accepted 2,000 KN95 face masks from the Kang Dream Foundation to donate to the Orange County Sheriffs Department for their deputies and staff.

“I am so grateful to Kevin Kang and the Kang Dream Foundation for making this generous donation to protect our Sheriff’s Deputies and staff at the Sheriff’s Department,” said Chairwoman Steel.

On Friday, May 8th, Chairwoman Steel joined the Rotary District 5320 to receive 5,000 face shields for the Board of Supervisors to Distribute to businesses in local communities.

“I was so pleased to be with hundreds of Rotarians and volunteers the last three weeks to help with the assembly of over 60,000 face shields,” said Chairwoman Steel. “I am so proud to be a part of this huge community effort and cannot praise Rotary International enough for their initiative in keeping Orange County safe.”
