OCCA School Update: Safety, Opening, & Parent Night

Will We Be Opening in August?
We have heard from quite a few parents with questions about whether or not we will be opening in August and how we intend to address school safety in light of Covid-19. The short answer is that all systems are go for an August school opening on-site. Teachers have been hired, classrooms are being prepared, curriculum is being ordered, and we’ll be ready for our scholars to join us on August 13th. We will be prepared to comply with all recommended safety standards around distancing, sanitizer, and hygiene generally.

What if the State Says Schools Cannot Open in August?
If the State of California or local health officers don’t allow schools to open in August, we will be prepared. Our Headmaster is joining us from a high-performing charter school and just recently transitioned the entire school to distance learning. We have access to the latest information and experts and are actively planning for a scenario that could include full or partial distance learning for a temporary period of time.

Bottom line is that we’ll be prepared for any scenario and school will absolutely open in August. We can’t wait to see you!
