As a Career Development volunteer for 8 years, Meridith Webster brings extensive Human Resources, Recruiting, and Customer Service experience to Working Wardrobes after working 35 years at the Disneyland Resort. With a background in Career Counselling and Training, and Master’s degree in Human Resources, as well as having hired over 1,000 Disneyland “Cast Members,” she truly enjoys working with our clients to help them prepare for and pursue their career goals. She encourages our clients to look at their job search from the point of view of their target job’s recruiter and the needs of that company. She has developed this quote to help our clients:

“Make the recruiter’s job easy to see how great you are!”

Tip of the Week:

Since many employees are now working from home and many hiring managers expect people they bring on will, too, it’s critical to show your aptitude and experience at it. Mention specific video technologies you’ve used, such as GotoWebinar or Zoom. Cite your familiarity with document-sharing tools like Google Docs. And detail how you’ve worked remotely. Include and highlight relevant soft skills, too — such as time management or written communication, self-motivation, task orientated without supervision — that demonstrate you can be as productive working from home as in an office.

What attendees say:

“Gilbert and I have been attending the workshops sometimes individually or together. The workshops have been extremely inspirational and rich in content. Personally for us, the workshop about “Overcoming Transitions,” was profoundly helpful for both of us. We have been learning about job searching, creating a resume, linkedIn, and many more resources. We are living in some challenging times and as we learn new skills, we will be able to make wise decisions for our family. Thank you, Working Wardrobes, for facilitating a brand new learning for us.”
