Cypress Police investigating assault with a deadly weapon on Lincoln Avenue

On Friday May 22, 2020, at 3:32 P.M., Cypress Police Department Officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4400 block of Lincoln Avenue in the City of Cypress. When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 28-year-old man, with gunshot wounds to the torso and hand area. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

Cypress Police Detectives are handling this investigation. It is believed this was an isolated incident with no on-going danger to the public.

  1. If the Cypress PD wants information from potential witnesses, they should be more explicit what occurred and where. The shooting happened during a memorial service at Forest Lawn and the shooter fled the scene eastbound on Lincoln Ave. At least CPD posted their press release on the same day of the shooting.
