May 21, 2020

Petty Theft Report – 7:53 a.m. – 4900 block of Berton Cir. – A vehicle was reportedly ransacked. The loss included registration and sunglasses.
Extra Patrol Checks – 11:10 a.m. – 5800 block of Daisy Cir. – The caller requested extra patrol checks during the overnight hours and advised that her doorbell camera caught three subjects checking vehicle door handles. Surveillance was available if needed.

May 22, 2020

Traffic Collision – 1:09 p.m. – 7200 block of Walker St. – A commercial vehicle reportedly hit a power pole and the line was down in the roadway. It was determined that the line was a cable line and the homeowner would attempt to contact their provider.
Counseling – 5:31 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party advised that when he was a child, he scratched a car at Tower Records and wanted to know if there was a fine. Advised.

May 23, 2020

Vandalism – 9:12 a.m. – Centerpointe – A guest reportedly broke a window and was throwing things out. The subject was detained in handcuffs and leg restraints following a TASER deployment. The room was heavily damaged and vandalized. The subject was transported to the hospital and remained uncooperative. The subject was sedated and then given a CT scan. Police arrested the subject for public intoxication, vandalism with damage valued at over $400, and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer.
Suspicious Circumstances – 11:55 p.m. – 5300 block of Achilles Cir. – A male subject was reportedly trying door handles and carrying items. Items were found in front of a location on the 5200 block of Achilles. Police conducted a patrol check for open car doors. Dispatch was requested to contact a resident to help with access to their doorbell camera. The resident stated that the cameras did not work. Two thefts were confirmed. Subject arrested for possession of burglary tools.

May 24, 2020

Fire – 5:38 p.m. – 7000 block of Coventry Cir. – The caller was reportedly unable to extinguish a fire in a propane grill, possibly due to old oil. The fire was extinguished prior to arrival.

May 25, 2020

Assault/Battery – 6:48 p.m. – 7800 block of Jennifer Cir. – The caller’s brother and sister reportedly punched the caller with a closed fist. The caller’s eye was busted open and bleeding. OCFA responded. The female refused to be transported by ambulance. The mother transported the female to the emergency room. Incident report taken.
Traffic Collision – 10:36 p.m. – La Palma/Denni – Police and OCFA responded to an accident with unknown injuries. A SigAlert was requested for the closure of eastbound La Palma at Denni. Police requested a flatbed tow truck. Dispatch sent a Redi Letter to Public Works regarding a damaged traffic sign on the center median on La Palma just east of Denni. Police arrested a 27-year-old subject for misdemeanor DUI.

May 26, 2020

Pedestrian Check – 7:23 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – Police contacted a pedestrian, who was subsequently arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.
Vandalism – 6:59 p.m. – La Palma/Valley View – A subject was seen writing on multiple street signs and vehicles with a black Sharpie. The caller advised that she also contacted Buena Park Police for vandalism that occurred in their jurisdiction. Police located and detained a subject in handcuffs. The subject was booked and later released on citation.

May 27, 2020

Foot Patrol – 8:26 a.m. – Coyote Creek/Orangethorpe – Police performing a foot patrol on the east side of Coyote Creek at Orangethorpe contacted a subject. Police arrested a 29-year-old subject for an outstanding warrant.
Found Property – 10:12 a.m. – 7400 block of Dallas Dr. – The caller found possibly counterfeit $100 bills while on the walk area of Niguel/Del Mar. Report taken.
Petty Theft Report – 9:04 p.m. – 4900 block of Malaga Dr. – The caller reported the mail theft of a new debit card between May 22 and May 27. The subject received a confirmation from USPS that he would receive his new debit card on Friday. Police advised him to contact USPS and verify that the debit card was in fact delivered. No report desired at this time.

May 28, 2020

Welfare Check – 2:23 a.m. – 5500 block of Byrne Dr. – The caller requested counseling regarding possible drug use in the residence. The reporting party changed the story multiple times while on the phone. The caller mentioned an 8-year-old daughter using heroin and the husband molesting the daughter. The caller also mentioned the 8-year-old daughter hitting the caller’s 4-month old daughter in the fact with a frying pan and giving the baby a black eye. The caller advised that he was also on heroin. Units were advised to cancel their response due to the caller being mentally disturbed and on drugs.
