Today, Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, promptly delivered CARES Act funding checks for small businesses to the mayors of the Second District.
“I am thrilled to deliver this much needed CARES Act Funding to the cities of the Second District to be given to their respective small businesses. Local control over these funds is vital, because our cities know their business communities best,” said Chairwoman Steel.
Chairwoman Steel was joined at the Hall of Administration by Councilwoman Diane Dixon of Newport Beach, Mayor Katrina Foley of Costa Mesa, Mayor Lyn Semeta of Huntington Beach, Mayor Dave Shawver of Stanton, Mayor Cheryl Brothers of Fountain Valley, Mayor Rob Johnson of Cypress, Mayor Fred Smith of Buena Park, Mayor Peter Kim La Palma, Mayor Richard Murphy of Los Alamitos to receive the checks.
“Our small businesses are the backbone of Orange County and they have been suffering as a result of COVID-19. I hope that this long-awaited CARES Act funding will be allocated quickly for the businesses that need it most,” added Chairwoman Steel.
