In support of transparency and to encourage communication with the public it serves, the Seal Beach Police Department released its use of force policy and procedures (pdf).
The nine-page document includes an overview, a mission statement with core values, response to the 8CANTWAIT campaign, a description of President Obama’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing with an explanation of how SBPD has applied its recommendations, and a statement by Seal Beach Police Chief Phil Gonshak on the killing of George Floyd.
