June 16th, 2020, Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors received a generous donation from the Government of Taiwan of 20,000 surgical masks.
These ‘Made in Taiwan’ masks will be given to hospitals, first responders and skilled nursing facilities in Orange County to assist those that are most exposed to COVID-19.
Chairwoman Steel and other members of the board were joined by Ambassador Abraham Chu, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles, who on behalf of the Taiwanese Government presented the delivery of the surgical masks to the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
“I am beyond grateful for this generous donation of masks specially shipped from Taiwan to assist Orange County residents as we continue our fight against COVID-19,” said Chairwoman Steel. “This gesture of kindness shows just how strong our friendship is with the people of Taiwan.”
