Los Alamitos High School and Los Alamitos Unified School District are pleased to announce our continued collaboration with Cypress College and the dual enrollment experience available to all LAHS students during the 2020-2021 school year. Dual enrollment is an agreement between a public school district and a local community college wherein students can be concurrently enrolled in both a public high school and a community college. The courses completed by Los Alamitos High School students at Cypress College are free of charge to the LAHS student and earn college credits. The credits earned can be listed on a college application, used as transfer credits from a community college to a 4-year college or university, and/or towards the completion of a professional industry certification. The college credits earned by LAHS students during high school are not placed on their high school transcript.
Today, Tuesday, July 7th at 6:00pm, an information event will be presented by Cypress College representatives with the information necessary for students and families to register for dual enrollment courses for the Fall, 2020 semester. As a note, Cypress College will be conducting Fall, 2020 courses online in accordance with the policies adopted by their community college district in response to COVID-19.
To participate in the virtual information evening, students and their families should pre-register for the meeting using the link below.
The information evening will begin online promptly at 6:00pm TODAY (July 7th) and will be conducted online via Zoom. We encourage any student/family to participate who may be interested in using the dual enrollment opportunity with Cypress College during the 2020-2021 school year.
