Democratic Municipal Officials names Melissa Fox a Blue Star Rising recipient

In a celebration of her commitment to serving her community on the Irvine City Council, Irvine City Councilmember Melissa Fox was named a Blue Star Rising Candidate by the Democratic Municipal Officials (DMO), one of the organization’s highest distinctions.

The DMO is a national association of Democratic elected mayors, city council members, and other municipal leaders, with over 6,000 members. It is a constituency organization of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

DMO President Scott Benson released the following statement announcing their support for Fox’s campaign for Assembly District 68:

“The Board of Directors of Democratic Municipal Officials is honored to name Councilmember Melissa Fox a Blue Star Rising Candidate as she seeks a position in the California State Assembly. We know her to be a fierce leader who embodies Democratic values and a motivation to improve the well being of every resident of her district.”

In a statement responding to the honor, Councilmember Fox commented:

“I am honored to earn the Democratic Municipal Officials Blue Star Rising candidate distinction. I’m proud to have a strong record of delivering results for my community and standing up for justice for all, improved infrastructure across the state, pay equity for women, maintaining and preserving good middle-class jobs, and protecting our precious environment.”

  1. Wow, Someone really needs to check this person’s bank records from the payouts from the 5 point developer. She botched the Veterans Cemetery in favor of 5 Point. We the citizens have voted TWICE to keep the cemetery at it’s original location. Still her and her cohorts are still figuring out a way to mislead the citizens and they name this person “Blue Star rising”? This is the Democrats style of getting more bad people in their party.

    1. Veterans Cemetery on ARDA is a terrible idea. They need to choose a better place

  2. This publication is about West Orange County. Why are you doing a sweetheart piece on an Irvine councilmember?
