June 29, 2020

Grand Theft – 7:48 a.m. – 1800 block of Tierra Ct. – Occurred overnight, an unknown suspect stole golf clubs from the victim’s unlocked vehicle valued at $5,000.00.
Vehicle Stop – 12:02 p.m. – Lincoln/Moody – From a vehicle stop, two subjects were arrested for possession for sales of narcotics, transportation of narcotics, possession of a methamphetamine pipe, possession of dangerous fireworks and false identification to a police officer.

June 30, 2020

Vehicle Burglary – 10:00 p.m. – 4500 block of Lincoln Ave. – Two male subjects driving a black Nissan entered the victims locked vehicle and stole items.

July 1, 2020

Vehicle Tampering – 4:54 a.m. – 4000 block of Larwin Ave. – The victim parked his vehicle and when he returned he found the steering column had been damaged.
Vehicle Burglary – 10:25 a.m. – 10000 block of Bloomfield – Overnight, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle via a door pry and miscellaneous personal property was stolen.
Vandalism – 9:31 p.m. – 8600 block of Watson – From a call for service regarding two subjects spray painting graffiti at a park, one subject was arrested for felony vandalism and a second subject was arrested for misdemeanor vandalism.

July 2, 2020

Burglary – 9:37 a.m. – 6100 block of Barbados – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect accessed the victim’s unlocked vehicle and used the garage door remote to access the garage. No loss was reported from the garage.
Petty Theft – 6:25 p.m. – 5400 block of Katella Ave. – Between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., an unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet and contents from her unattended purse while she shopped.

July 3, 2020

Violation of a Court Order – 12:10 p.m. – 5700 block of Lime Ave. – A female reported that a male subject was at the location in violation of a domestic violence emergency protective order. Upon arrival, police contacted the male and arrested him for violation of a court order.

July 4, 2020

DUI – 2:36 a.m. – Valley View/Cerritos – Officers attempted to stop a suspected DUI driver. The vehicle, a light colored Toyota truck fled and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued south on Valley View St. to the northbound 405 Freeway and into Long Beach. The pursuit was terminated after officers lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle.
Burglary/Auto Theft – 8:24 a.m. – 5400 block of Twin Lakes – Between 2:00 and 6:00 a.m., an unknown suspect entered the victims’ open garage, found a spare key to their black 2015 Honda Accord and took the vehicle.
Fraud Investigation – 4:21 p.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – Officers were called to the location after a guest failed to return to the hotel or pay for additional days, thus terminating her stay. When management assumed control of the room, they found equipment and paraphernalia to doctor/forge checks and access cards.
Unknown Trouble – 7:08 p.m. – 10000 block of Saint Vincent Circle – Officers responded to the location regarding unknown trouble. Upon arrival, a male subject pulled a knife from his pocket and began waving it at officers in a threatening manner. The subject’s adult son quickly intervened and convinced him to drop the knife. No officers were injured during the incident. The subject was arrested without incident for felony domestic violence,
ADW on a police officer, brandishing a knife towards a police officer and threats of force towards a police officer.

July 6, 2020

Assault and Battery – 4:43 p.m. – 5400 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service of an assault and battery, a subject was arrested for domestic violence.

July 7, 2020

Grand Theft – 1:34 p.m. – 6100 block of Gateway Dr. – Three separate vehicles had their catalytic
converters stolen for a total loss of $5,000. Surveillance video revealed there were two suspect vehicles involved.
Brandishing a Firearm – 6:50 p.m. – Lincoln/Grindlay – A male subject driving a black Kia Forte flashed gang signs and pointed a black handgun at a motorcyclist. Suspect was last seen eastbound on Lincoln.

July 8, 2020

Arrest – 6:14 a.m. – 5000 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a welfare check, a female subject was arrested for domestic violence after she assaulted her boyfriend.
Shots Heard – 11:13 a.m. – Walker/Delong – Two reporting parties called regarding gunshots heard in the area. One of the reporting parties advised they saw a tan Chevy Suburban leaving the area at a high rate of speed. During a check of the area, officers located bullet holes on the driver’s side door of a vehicle parked on the street. No other vehicles or structures were struck. Surrounding residents were contacted as a safety precaution.

July 9, 2020

Assist Outside Agency – 1:47 a.m. – Long Beach – Long Beach Police Department requested the assistance of the Cypress Police Department for a K9 to search the business for burglary suspects. Cypress Police responded and searched the premises. Two suspects were located hiding in a storage locker. Both suspects surrendered.
CIB Arrest – 2:47 p.m. – 1200 block of Harbor Blvd. (Anaheim) – With the assistance of Anaheim Police Department Gang Unit, Cypress Police detectives located and arrested a male subject for brandishing a firearm and participation in criminal street gang from a report taken on July 7, 2020.
Grand Theft – 7:56 p.m. – 5400 block of Katella Ave. – A male suspect was detained by store security after he exited the store through an emergency exit with approximately $1,400 in merchandise. Gassaway was arrested for grand theft.

July 19, 2020

Homeless Outreach – 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Citywide – The Cypress Police Homeless Liaison Officer and City Net conducted citywide homeless outreach.
Trespassing – 2:38 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – Officers contacted subject in his van. He refused offers to provide him with fuel and a jump-start to move off the property. The subject was given a new trespassing advisement.
Arrest – 3:43 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – With the assistance from Detectives, Officers worked with the victim of a vehicle burglary out of Casa Grande, who had located his stolen property on Offer Up. Under the guise that the suspect was meeting to sell the stolen property back to the victim, a male subject was contacted and arrested for possession of stolen property.

July 11, 2020

Assist Outside Agency – 2:14 a.m. – Arline Ave./Civic Center Dr. (Hawaiian Gardens) – Officers assisted Los Alamitos Police Department with an area search for a suspect who fled on foot during a car stop. The suspect was located hiding in a nearby rear yard. He surrendered without incident.
Burglary/Stolen Vehicle – 6:41 a.m. – 6100 block of Lincoln Ave. – Sometime between 10:00 p.m. last night and 6 a.m. today, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s white Kia Sorrento by entering the victim’s garage and locating a spare car key.

July 12, 2020

Vehicle Burglary – 3:46 p.m. – 5800 block of Comstock – Sometime over the weekend, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle by unknown means and stole a cellphone, boots, and sunglasses valued at approximately $1700.00.
Structure Fire – 7:15 p.m. – 8600 block of Acacia Ave. – Officers responded to the call of a house on fire. The fire was contained to a small portion of the house. Arson investigators determined a malfunctioning bathroom exhaust fan caused the fire. The house was yellow tagged for limited access only.
