July 9, 2020

Disturbance (Group) – 8:21 p.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – Subjects were reportedly playing soccer on the tennis courts. Per the new City policy for COVID-19, the tennis courts were for single-use tennis games only. Police contacted five subjects and a sign was posted advising no non-tennis activity on the tennis courts.

July 10, 2020

Counseling – 10:20 a.m. – 8000 block of Swan Cir. – The reporting party stated that a neighbor had threatened to damage his vehicle at least four times within one week. Counseled.
Vehicle Check – 1:33 p.m. – 5500 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A vehicle was reportedly parked in the parking lot with a flat tire and a key in the ignition.

July 11, 2020

Transient – 10:53 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly yelling and scaring away customers. The subject was provided a meal by the responding officer and left heading towards Cypress.
Health & Safety – 3:42 p.m. – 5200 block of Iberville Cir. – A package filled with marijuana was reportedly delivered to the caller’s residence. Found property report taken and the police would conduct follow-up at a later time with the Postal Service.

July 12, 2020

Found Property – 1:04 p.m. – 7800 block of Barbi Ln. – Approximately 20-25 pieces of luggage were reportedly left in the front yard around 9:50 a.m. The caller was counseled by phone regarding a civil issue. No crime at this time.
Patrol Check – 7:00 p.m. – Moody/La Luna – A large cloud of smoke was reported coming from behind Amberwood. It was possibly coming from a structure fire on Acacia Dr. in Cypress.
Fire – 8:09 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – Multiple callers reported a vehicle on fire at the location. The vehicle was up against a building. OCFA responded and determined there were no suspicious circumstances.

July 13, 2020

Suspicious Subject – 12:25 p.m. – 7000 block of Moody St. – A subject was reportedly sleeping by the back stairwell. Police contacted the subject and conducted a search. A 26-year-old Lakewood resident was arrested for parole violation.
Petty Theft – 5:52 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller reported the possible theft of a bag of chips, with the subject eating the product inside the store without paying for it. Police requested OCFA for a dehydrated male subject. It was unknown if a theft occurred, and the reporting party did not desire prosecution but requested the subject be advised for trespassing. The subject was transported to the hospital.

July 14, 2020

Incident Report – 12:09 p.m. – Walker/Conifer – The caller reported a possible lost wallet with possible fraudulent charges on credit cards. The caller was counseled and no report was taken at this time.
Petty Theft – 1:44 p.m. – 5200 block of Verner Dr. – The caller reportedly observed subjects possibly steal the rear license plate from a vehicle. The victim vehicle was a white Audi. Cypress Police Department was advised. Police arrested a 27-year-old Garden Grove resident for tampering with a vehicle and parole violation.

July 15, 2020

Counseling – 12:36 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The caller’s 18-year-old daughter was reportedly sold a yellow banana ice vape pen. Both parties were counseled; the father was concerned for his daughter’s health, and the daughter was counseled on the dangers of vaping.
Police Information – 11:13 p.m. – 91 Fwy./Knott (Buena Park) – Ten vehicles were reportedly racing eastbound on the 91 Freeway passing Knott.
