GGPD celebrates National Night Out virtually, invites community to participate

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in keeping with the updated policy on gatherings issued by Governor Gavin Newsom, the Garden Grove Police Department (GGPD) will recognize National Night Out 2020 virtually, with a video produced by award-winning Garden Grove TV3 (GGTV3). On Tuesday, August 4, at 12:00 p.m., the community is invited to view the special message on GGPD’s Facebook at facebook.com/gardengrovepd, and GGTV3’s YouTube channel, at youtube.com/gardengrovetv3.

For over 30 years, GGPD has participated in the nation’s annual celebration of police-community partnerships, focusing on the shared importance of building safer neighborhoods, encouraging community involvement, and strengthening police/community relations.

Viewers will meet police department members, and learn about GGPD’s efforts to keep the community safe and the various police units that make up the department.

After watching the video, viewers can participate in a social media challenge for opportunities to win a $20 gift card to a Garden Grove restaurant of their choice.

To participate, visit GGPD’s National Night Out Facebook Event Page, at bit.ly/NNO20; click on “Going” and check in regularly for event updates, including the social media challenge instructions.

To learn more, visit ggpd.org or call (714) 741-5760.
