Today the campaign for Senator John Moorlach announced the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA), adding to a growing coalition of taxpayer groups and small businesses supporting the Senator for re-election.
“Prop 13 is threatened by the split roll ballot measure, and we need John Moorlach fighting against these and other attempts to increase property taxes in California,” said Jon Coupal, President of HJTA. “The state has gone on a spending spree, and that means taxpayers need to hang-on to their wallets. Senator Moorlach is one of the few legislators that homeowners can count on to oppose higher property taxes and stop the careless runaway government spending.”
As a young CPA and partner in a CPA firm, John Moorlach called-out Orange County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector for risky investments. Moorlach’s warnings proved true, and after the County filed for bankruptcy protection, he was appointed to serve as Treasurer-Tax Collector to fix the mess. Since then, Moorlach has established the reputation as a prudent financial advisor and strong advocate for fiscal restraint.
