Correa votes to keep government open

Congressman Lou Correa released the following statement regarding the passage of a Continuing Resolution to avert shutting down the government:

“While I am disappointed that, yet again, the House has failed to finish its work and pass a budget, I am pleased to have voted to keep the government open during these trying times. Shutting down the government over a budget dispute is always a bad idea; however, the COVID-19 pandemic makes keeping the government open a matter of life and death. As we continue to work towards a final agreement, we must ensure we keep our promises to the American people.”

Rep. Lou Correa represents California’s 46th Congressional District. He serves as Chair of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, and as the Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet.
