JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort announces the highly anticipated opening of Parkestry Rooftop Bar, Anaheim’s highest bar and lounge with scenic views of Southern California sunsets, Catalina Island, and Downtown Los Angeles on a clear day. Located on the rooftop of the new JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort, Parkestry invites both hotel guests and the general public to enjoy handcrafted libations and light bites in this swanky, new space overlooking Disneyland Resort®.
Parkestry’s opening comes just a few weeks after the hotel’s grand reveal on August 19, 2020 boasting elevated cocktail culture and chef-crafted cuisine. Helmed by Executive Chef, Amol Agarwal, the menu perfectly blends his Indian heritage, cultural experiences, and culinary expertise through a mix of unique flavor combinations and colorful creations. Items such as the Spanish Albondigas made of pork, beef, scallion, almond romesco, and cilantro, as well as the Asian Chicken Bakso comprised of fresh coriander, ginger, vegetable slaw, and spicy plum sauce, are available on the temporarily limited menu.
In alignment with Marriott’s commitment to health and general well-being, the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort’s JW Garden plays a significant role in the development of the hotel’s food and beverage programs by providing fruits, herbs, and vegetables such as kale, basil, strawberries, and jalapenos. On a mixology retreat with Marriott corporate, Food and Beverage Director, Scott Kimmel, was given the opportunity to experiment with well-known beverage professionals and enthusiasts to craft Parkestry’s illustrious cocktail menu. The results show in the glass, with flavorful beverages that exemplify master mixology and inspiration drawn from the hotel’s joint ownership. Beverages including the Sweet William’s, inspired by Bill O’Connell with O’Connell Hotels and Hospitality Group, and Prosperity, inspired by Prospera Hotels Inc., commemorate the innovative partnership that brought the new luxury property to life.
Patrons at Parkestry will be amazed at the detail in its design. Each side of the rooftop space is intended to represent daytime and nighttime sky, creating a fun and open social energy. This begins when guests step off the elevator and onto the custom mosaic floor tiling meant to mimic the night sky. A discreet saying reads “look up,” and guests are met with decorative lights resembling constellations and orbital-like shadows cast along the corridor, provoking a playful curiosity. The bar is made of gold and crème tiles that resemble the sun and its rays, and restrooms are lined with poetic mirrors that provide positive affirmations to both men and women that magically appear upon entering. Be it a happy hour hang out or a special event on a sunny day, the lounge is layered with California chic elements that make for a light and sophisticated space, and a secluded escape. When the Disneyland® theme park re-opens, guests will enjoy unobstructed views of the nightly firework display.
The name Parkestry is a whimsical combination of “park” and the suffix “-estry”, as in ancestry and tapestry. The name is a nod to the history-making families who established this part of California, the timeless artistry woven throughout the hotel, and the garden-like feel conveyed through landscaping and wood-centric design elements.
Parkestry follows all safety protocols in accordance with CDC guidelines, including, but not limited to: sanitizing all surfaces; providing digital, disposable, or sanitized menus; providing sanitizer for customers and employees, enforcing social distancing in common areas, and enforcing mandatory masks for employees and diners unless eating or drinking.
