  1. I just moved into the area this last month and very intersted in how to vote this next month. I wasn’t aware that the 30th was happening and bummed I missed it. Any way to have the candidates respond to some of the important talking points? A few ideas:
    – plans/ideas for covid recovery
    – stance on violence, police and emergency response
    – abortion/Planned Parenthood
    – sex education in schools
    – any important local issues that would sway a vote.
    Thank you for your consideration!

    1. Kris,

Thank you for reading Orange County Breeze, and for taking the time to comment on this article.

I recommend that you watch the video of the candidates forum that was organized by the Cypress Chamber of Commerce:

      http://www.oc-breeze.com/2020/10/03/188218_cypress-council-candidate-forum-now-posted-to-youtube/

Not only does it provide some answers, but it also includes links to candidate websites and/or email addresses.

Again, thank you for reading Orange County Breeze.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and vote!

  2. As a voter it would be really helpful if you could list the political party each candidate identifies with.

    1. Norm,

Thank you for reading Orange County Breeze, and for asking for the Cypress City Council candidates party affiliation.

The California Constitution requires such local elections to be non-partisan, so the candidates are not required to disclose their party affiliation.

The only candidate whose party affiliation I can guess surely about is Frances Marquez, who has worked for Alan Lowenthal and has union funding. I strongly suspect that she is a Democrat.

Again, thank you for reading Orange County Breeze.

      Stay safe, stay healthy!
