Seal Beach Police Department reports bicycle fatality on Pacific Coast Highway

A bicycle rider passed away after being involved in a traffic accident on Pacific Coast Highway.

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at about 9:17 am, the Seal Beach Police Department responded to a call of an injury traffic collision in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Seal Beach Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male bicyclist injured on the ground.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the bicyclist may have collided with an object in the bicycle lane, which caused him to lose control and fall from the bicycle. Seal Beach Police officers and personnel from the Orange County Fire Authority rendered aid. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No vehicles were involved in this incident and no other injuries were reported.
