Young Kim for Congress and Karat Packaging partner to provide PPE to the community

Young Kim for Congress partnered with Alan Yu and Karat by Lollicup TM to donate 1.5 million face masks, 24,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 20,000 face shields to organizations across the 39th Congressional District. The donations are going to:

  • First Responders
  • Schools
  • Law Enforcement
  • Community Centers
  • Community Clinics
  • Homeless Shelters

In early March, Karat by Lollicup TM was quick to pivot resources from foodservice products to launch the Karat 3-Ply Face Mask; meeting the growing demands for protective gear. Since then, they have grown the line of products and are now giving back to the community.

Company CEO Alan Yu stated: “Karat Packaging has been one of the fortunate companies that has survived the lockdown, as well as the economic slowdown of this economy. Now that the California economy is about to re-open, we want to give back to and support our nearby communities so that we can all go back to our normal lives quicker.”

Young Kim for Congress has shifted the focus of its campaign during the coronavirus to giving back to the community and coronavirus relief, partnering with multiple businesses and organizations to provide PPE and essential items to the community.

“I am so grateful for Alan Yu and partners like Karat Packaging who have helped us give back and provide PPE and essential items to those most in need and hurting due to COVID-19. The masks, hand sanitizers and face shields will go to the organizations and individuals that most need it in the 39th District,” said Young Kim.
