Orange County votes 2020

We are reporting on County results in Statewide and Countywide elections. For local election results outside our coverage area, please check with the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

We must place front and center a disclaimer from the Orange County Registrar of Voters:

*IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Ballot estimates will expand as eligible ballots (mailed on or before Election Day) are received via USPS and ballots deposited in official drop boxes (prior to 8PM on Election Night) are received and processed.

California law (AB 860) extended the deadline for eligible ballots (mailed on or before Election Day) to be received through November 20, 2020. The changes also expanded the time for voters to cure ballot signature issues to November 24, 2020.

Note that as a piece of legislation duly passed by the California State Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Newsom, AB 860 is unaffected by the ruling on Monday by a Superior Court judge that changes made to State election law by executive order are unconstitutional.

These numbers are as of 4:03 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4.

State-wide Ballot Measures

Only five (5) ballot measures were approved:

  • #14, to continue stem cell research
  • #17, restoration of voting rights to felons after completion of sentence
  • #19, property tax rules changes
  • #22, restoring the right of app-based drivers to work as independent contractors
  • #24, consumer privacy laws
