A note from Jerri Rosen, founder of Working Wardrobes:
I have always tried to remain positive and uplifting in my messages to you, despite the challenges the
Working Wardrobes team has faced this year – including a fire that destroyed our headquarters.
Perhaps this approach was wrong.
You see, we made rebuilding look easy when, in fact, it was the single most challenging time in our organization’s history. Put simply, this year has been gut-wrenching.
Even though we rebuilt like we said we would, we have suffered tremendous losses, missed significant revenue opportunities, and dipped into our financial reserves. In all, we lost $2.1 million this year which extends far beyond the damages we sustained from the fire.
From my heart to yours, I am asking for help.
Please give to Working Wardrobes so that we can rebuild revenue. Please help us so that we can continue to provide career development programs to single mothers, domestic violence survivors, veterans, and many more.
I wanted to share this personal video with you, to really articulate the impact that the fire had on so many people – not only myself, but the many incredible clients, volunteers, donors, staff members, and Board Members that comprise the Working Wardrobes family. We truly are a family.
Making this video was very, very difficult. Watching it was even harder, but it reinforced a fundamental fact.
Working Wardrobes is supported by wonderful people, like you, who care so very much about our mission. For that, we are honored and eternally grateful.
I have the deepest appreciation and gratitude for you, for our community, and for the incredible supporters who enable us to continue to deliver on our mission. These times are extremely challenging. Our clients need you now, more than ever.
