Yesterday, Young Kim sent out an email thanking her supporters for her razor-thin win in California’s 39th Congressional District:
We stood together. We stood up to the attacks, no matter how many millions of dollars they spent against us. We fought to give the 39th District their voice and WE WON!
When I got back into this race, I knew it would be an uphill battle. I knew it would be hard, and long, and would be won by the smallest margin. I knew Nancy Pelosi would come after us with everything in her arsenal because this top-targeted, toss-up seat is too important to lose.
But I also knew, with our grassroots team behind us, we could win. And, because of you, Friend, we did.
We’ve given Californians a voice and begun to restore common-sense leadership to Congress. Now, it’s time to fight for lower taxes, affordable healthcare, and a pro-business environment so our economy can recover. I’ve fought to solve issues of homelessness and affordability — the issues we face every day here in California — and I’m ready to continue that fight in Congress.
This victory is not mine alone. It is shared with the thousands of supporters who have fought alongside me, every step of the way. Friend, your support was critical to our success. We would not have won without you.
As our campaign ends, the work begins and I could not be more humbled to serve California’s 39th District and fight on behalf of hard working Americans.
Thank you for putting your faith in me.
