On Saturday, November 21, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris partnered with the Power of One Foundation, Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley and thirteen other community partners to distribute more than 1,000 turkeys and food boxes to the community ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The distribution drive was supported by the work of over 70 volunteers from the community, including volunteers from Costa Mesa’s Save Our Youth (SOY) non-profit. Participants were able to pick up food through two distribution lines, including turkey and USDA food boxes with vegetables, dairy products and protein items.
“I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to partner with The Power of One for this Thanksgiving food distribution drive,” said Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach). “As the pandemic continues, it is more important than ever that our community feels supported. The ability to help every family have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays is something that will make an immense difference.”
The Power of One Foundation’s core mission is to focus on fighting hunger and poverty by providing food assistance and vital resources to vulnerable communities and individuals in Orange County and beyond.
