Thanks to a grant from the California State Library, the Buena Park Library District is pleased to offer virtual career support and veterans assistance to our library patrons through the JobNow & VetNow database from Brainfuse.
Patrons interested in services and assistance for veterans can use VetNow to virtually interact with a live veteran navigator to evaluate benefit eligibility and be connected to community resources. JobNow features a live job coach to help with resume writing, job searching, and interview skills. Resumes can also be submitted to a professional evaluator for recommendations and feedback.
Additionally, patrons who need assistance navigating through the unemployment process can use JobNow to connect with an expert to assist with completing forms for unemployment benefits. The JobNow & VetNow database also features Tools for Learners and the Adult Learning Center. These portions of the database help patrons prepare for proficiency and equivalency exams, build computer skills, and develop reading, writing, and math abilities.
The JobNow & VetNow database is available 24/7 with a Buena Park Library District library card by using the link on the eResources tab of our website. Live virtual job coaches and benefits navigators are available through the database from 1pm to 10pm Monday through Friday. California residents are invited to apply for a free library card by visiting the library and filling an application out at the check-out desk. The Buena Park Library District is currently open for Grab & Go services and Curbside Pick-up Monday through Saturday from 10am-5pm.
Brainfuse also powers the Library’s popular HelpNow database, which provides homework help, tutoring, and other academic support. Buena Park Library District offers a variety of eResources to support distance learning, recreation, and skill building. Visit the eResources tab of our website to learn about downloadable eBooks, streaming video, educational databases, and more.
