December 7, 2020

Theft – 5:40 p.m. – 5800 block of Lincoln Ave. – From a call for service regarding a theft in progress, a male subject was arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest. Upon seeing an officer, the subject took off on a short foot pursuit through the parking lot before surrendering at Taser point.
Grand Theft – 7:51 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – Five subjects entered the store and began to
gather up large amounts of clothing from the display racks and placed them into bags. All five subjects loaded the clothing up and left in two separate vehicles. Both vehicles were described as an older model Mercedes. The subjects stole approximately $2,500.00 in clothing.

December 8, 2020

Arson – 12:10 a.m. – 4600 block of Lincoln Ave. – A passerby reported a transient near the construction site just west of Extra Space Storage. The reporting party said it appeared the construction site was on fire and the transient may have been the culprit. Officers arrived on scene and located several small fires in the construction site which were quickly extinguished. A short distance away (Lincoln and Denni) a subject matching the description given by the reporting party was located and stopped by officers.
Grand Theft – 12:45 p.m. – Lincoln/Walker – At the time of call, a 30 year old male, Hispanic, 5’09”, wearing a black shirt, jeans and baseball cap, stole the victim’s custom bicycle from the bike rack on his car, and rode away. The victim attempted to give chase, but fell in the parking lot and lost sight of which direction on Walker the suspect fled. The bike was valued at $3500.

December 9, 2020

Suspicious Circumstances – 12:26 a.m. – 4900 block of Lincoln Ave. – A reporting party called regarding 5-6 subjects entering a business that appeared to be closed with blacked-out windows. Additionally, there was a flatbed truck to the rear of the business with a subject in the driver’s seat. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the subject to the rear and subjects to the front. All subjects were uncooperative and evasive with why they were at the business. Eventually, officers learned it was an illegal gambling location and there were more subjects inside. All subjects were called out and detained.
Arrest – 2:59 p.m. – 9500 block of Graham – From a call for service, a male subject was arrested for terrorist threats after he threatened to kill the landlord and other residents at his apartment complex.

December 10, 2020

Assist Outside Agency – 1:30 a.m. – Knott/Cerritos – Two Cypress Officers assisted Orange County Sheriff’s Department Deputies with a K9 search for a suspect who evaded Deputies in a stolen vehicle, crashed in Stanton and fled on foot. The suspect was not located.
Arrest – 5:38 p.m. – 6000 block of Lincoln Ave. – The reporting party located his stolen skateboard
on Offer Up and arranged to meet the possible suspect. Officers assisted the reporting party and a male subject was arrested for possession of stolen property and an outstanding warrant.
Robbery – 8:17 p.m. – 10000 block of Valley View St. – Male subject exited Stater Bros after failing to pay for items. Store employees attempted contact with the subject and the subject threatened the employees prior to fleeing. Officers located the subject in the area of Ball and Walker and the subject attempted to flee, but was later detained. The male subject was arrested for robbery and resisting arrest.

December 11, 2020

Domestic Violence/Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 6:40 a.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. – During an argument over the custody of a dog, the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, struck her with his vehicle, and stole the dog. Very minor injuries and victim did not desire prosecution. Independent witness observed the altercation and the suspect fled prior to officer arrival.
Grand Theft – 8:00 a.m. – 4800 block of Cathy Ave. – Overnight, unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a briefcase containing $1,500 cash and credit cards.

December 12, 2020

Traffic Stop – 1:09 a.m. – Walker/Camp – From a traffic stop, one male subject was arrested for outstanding warrants and a second male subject for possession of stolen property after he was found to be in possession of stolen packages from a nearby residence.
Non-Injury Hit and Run – 11:58 a.m. – Valley View/Cerritos – Three vehicles were reportedly involved in a traffic collision with one vehicle fleeing the scene. A subject later came to the PD lobby to report he was the driver and fled due to panicking.

December 13, 2020

Vandalism – 6:39 p.m. – 10100 block of Valley View St. – During a vandalism investigation, a male subject was arrested for two outstanding warrants. The vandalism (window smash) was found to have occurred but the business owner refused prosecution.
Burglary – 10:31 p.m. – 4900 block of Lincoln Ave. – Officers responded to an alarm call for service and discovered forced entry to the front door of the business. Officers and K9 Kubo searched the interior and did not locate any suspects. The crime occurred between 7:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. and there was no loss.
