November 25, 2020

Patrol Check – 11:06 p.m. – San Simeon/Camden – The caller advised that there was a group of people standing next to vehicles on the corner but that they had since left. He thought that they were associated with recent fireworks in the area and requested patrol checks.

November 26, 2020

Stray Animal – 9:30 a.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – A small black and white dog was found in the area of the track. The animal was held in the police kennel until SEAACA arrived and picked up the dog.
Counseling – 2:58 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – The caller advised that she paid $175 for a prepaid card, but found that there were no funds on the card. The store reportedly refused to help her and were argumentative. Assisted.

November 27, 2020

Suspicious Circumstances – 12:02 p.m. – 7700 block of Walker St. – The reporting party believed that she may be being followed. A male subject approached the RP’s vehicle in the parking lot and the RP brushed the male off. The RP left and then went to a coffee shop and then saw the male subject across the parking lot at the coffee shop. The RP then drove to a gas station parking lot and the male followed her there, too. The RP did capture a photo of the suspect and vehicle. No crime at this time. The reporting party was counseled.
Fire – 9:45 p.m. – Denni/La Palma – The caller could see fire coming from a house. Police determined that the incident was unfounded and that the fire was controlled and in a gas fire pit.

November 28, 2020

Counseling – 1:59 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – Unknown subjects reportedly put malware on the caller’s computer and were now demanding money. Report taken.
Suspicious Vehicle – 3:30 p.m. – 4500 block of Trafalgar Dr. – The caller ordered food through Door Dash and it was delivered at approximately 12 p.m. The caller left and had just return to the residence with a vehicle blocking the driveway. The caller was counseled. No crime at this time. Extra patrol checks were requested for the night watch.

November 29, 2020

Traffic Hazard – 9:58 a.m. – 4800 block of Crescent Ave. – A tree branch was reportedly causing a hazard. Cypress Police were at the location and advised that it was La Palma’s jurisdiction. La Palma Public Works removed most of the tree and would return to remove the small debris and cones in the street.
Traffic Stop – 5:03 p.m. – Orangethorpe/Centerpointe – During a traffic stop, police conducted field sobriety tests and arrested a 33-year-old male subject for misdemeanor DUI and having a BAC of over .01 while on probation for DUI.
Pedestrian Check – 10:45 p.m. – 5300 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – While performing a pedestrian check, police detained a subject in cuffs. Police arrested a 38-year-old male subject for false report of identification to a peace officer and littering.

November 30, 2020

Burglary Report – 7:05 a.m. – 8000 block of Walker St. – A classroom was reportedly broken into via an unlocked window between 12:00 p.m. on Nov. 29 and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 30. Nothing appeared to be missing at this time. The area was ransacked, the subject slept on the couch, and the tithing box was moved. Burglary report taken.

December 1, 2020

Disturbance (Music) – 10:35 a.m. – 7100 block of Tiara Ln. – Loud music was reportedly coming from the residence to the rear. Neighbors advised that a piano was often heard from Caprice. Police conducted an area check and located the residence. The resident would close their window.
Grand Theft Report – 9:35 p.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – The loss was a full shopping cart of merchandise valued at $900. The subject left in a mid-size SUV.

December 2, 2020

Petty Theft – 10:23 a.m. – 5900 block of La Palma Ave. – A female subject in the bathroom had a large amount of cosmetics in the cart, and the cart no longer had the cosmetics. The subject did have a tote bag that she was holding very closely. Police contacted the female, who was arrested for petty theft and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. A female officer was requested from Buena Park Police to perform a search of the subject in jail.
Health & Safety – 1:24 p.m. – Centerpointe – A guest was reportedly moving but not responsive. The subject was described as conscious, alert, and breathing but avoiding or ignoring the reporting party. Police arrested a 32-year-old female subject for possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

December 3, 2020

Suspicious Circumstances – 1:52 a.m. – 7300 block of Spruce Cir. – The caller advised that a male subject wearing a hoodie was on the side of a house. The subject was last seen walking down the driveway. Police found multiple vehicle burglaries in the area. A tool bag with power tools and other miscellaneous property was found possibly stashed in the area. Buena Park Police Department was advised.
Person Down – 2:51 p.m. – Walker/Fresca – A subject who had been discharged from the hospital had shortness of breath and trauma and bleeding to the face. OCFA responded and the subject was transported to another hospital. Report taken.
