Long Beach Blues Society offers free live New Year’s Eve lockdown stream

OK, the year whose name I will not mention is almost over. The toll on the music business has been intense. Hopefully, much of that will turn around in the coming year. In the meantime, venues are dropping like flies. It’s up to us, the folks in all aspects of the business of music and the fans, to make every effort to rescue and save those remaining.

Following the new music biz paradigm of live streaming, the Long Beach Blues Society has partnered with the LB Chamber of Commerce, LB Convention & Visitors Bureau, KLBP radio, the Long Beach Post, Long Beach Local News, LB Restaurant Association, Johnston Insurance, and the following Long Beach Music Venues: Alex’s Bar, Supply & Demand, DiPiazza’s, The Boathouse, 4th St & Vine, Main St, Kobe’s SteakHouse, Trani’s & The Gaslamp.

There will be a Live stream supporting LB bands playing in LB bars, using their donation links, which will be displayed so the community can help support their favorite local entertainment spots and bands.

The Live Stream will be happening this Thursday, December 31st, NYE, starting around 9 pm. “Spend your locked down NYE enjoying & supporting the bars and bands you would usually be partying with”.

The Long Beach Blues Society hopes to get this everywhere around LB, so bars and bands have every opportunity to collect donations. So far, our mainstream will be thru ‘Long Beach Local News’ Facebook page. They have around 140,000 followers, great initial reach!

Long Beach Local News page from where we broadcast live on NYE:

As the Chief Visionary for the Left Coast Blues Alliance, I hope to spread the reach much further than the boundaries of Long Beach’s city. We can’t save all the venues, but we can get off to a good start bringing in the New Year.

Perhaps you could play a couple of these tunes from some of the bands who will be performing. Maybe mention this as a public service announcement. The Long Beach Blues Society and the Left Coast Blues Alliance, as well as numerous Blues music fans, will be eternally grateful!
