January 8, 2021
Stolen Vehicle Report – 6:50 a.m. – 8000 block of Dabny Ln. – A large work truck was reportedly stolen from the driveway overnight. Police were unable to locate the vehicle on an area check. LAPD-Southeast later located the vehicle damaged and stripped in their jurisdiction.
Pedestrian Check – 6:33 p.m. – Valley View/Thelma – Police conducted a pedestrian check and located a shopping cart full of brand new items with price tags. Neighboring jurisdictions were contacted to determine if there were any recent thefts. Police arrested a subject for possession of a shopping cart, failure to yield as a pedestrian not on the sidewalk, and receiving/concealing stolen property. A second subject was arrested for the same charges as well as possession of burglary tools and shoplifting.

Public Works Information – 11:25 a.m. – 5300 block of Athens Cir. – A pool heater was reportedly emitting unburnt gas when running, possibly a gas leak, but only when the gas heater was on. There was no active gas smell when the property was checked. The Gas Company was at the location a couple days prior attempting to repair the issue. Checked okay for now.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 1:30 p.m. – 5800 block of Calaveras Cir. – The caller had updated information for a possible stolen vehicle. Police checked the area and located a vehicle matching the description. Police arrested a 30-year-old female subject for possession of controlled substances and unlawful taking/driving of a vehicle. The vehicle was released to the victim.

Suspicious Subject – 3:13 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – A subject on a bike was reportedly seen with bolt cutters in a backpack. The subject was cited and relinquished the bolt cutters as well as other property to hold on to for safekeeping.
Disturbance (Subjects) – 9:55 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – The caller advised that subjects were creating a disturbance in vehicles in the driveway. It was possibly some type of road rage incident. The vehicles were last seen headed southbound on Walker.

Vehicle Tampering Report – 10:34 a.m. – 5700 block of San Simeon Dr. – The ignition and door locks of the vehicle were reportedly tampered with between 6 p.m. on Jan. 10 and the time of call. The vehicle appeared to be ransacked. Report taken.
Counseling – 3:49 p.m. – 5200 block of Pembury Cir. – The caller’s daughter was reportedly scammed out of money attempting to buy a puppy online. Report taken.
January 12, 2021
Vehicle Burglary Report – 7:12 a.m. – Centerpointe – A locked vehicle was reportedly broken into overnight by window break. The loss was a purse and a GPS. A knife was left behind. Report taken.
Identity Theft Report – 9:28 a.m. – 5000 block of Cartagena Cir. – When filing taxes online, the reporting party discovered that her children’s Social Security numbers were used for tax year 2018-19. The IRS needed to investigate so the report could be filed through irs.gov or by calling the Department of Justice Identity Theft Line. Information provided to the reporting party.
Traffic Collision – 6:24 p.m. – La Palma/Moody – LAFD was at the scen of a three-vehicle accident, with OCFA en route. All northbound lanes were blocked at La Palma and Moody. Assistance was requested from the Cypress Police Department. Tow trucks were requested to clear the vehicles out of the roadway.

Suspicious Vehicle – 12:31 p.m. – Barbi/Donna – The caller reported a vehicle driving back and forth in the area. A subject got out of the vehicle and was checking porches. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle and determined that the subject was a gardener who worked at multiple residences in the area.
Counseling – 6:10 p.m. – 4300 block of Robin Dr. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a possible scam phone call from an unknown subject claiming to be from the power company requesting the reporting party’s information. Counseled.
