January 18, 2020

Suspicious Circumstances – 3:27 p.m. – The reporting party saw a male subject carrying items to a waiting Hyundai. The vehicle had been circling the area for several minutes prior to him calling. The reporting party spooked the subjects and they drove away. The vehicle was stopped at Lincoln/Moody and ultimately the female driver was arrested for possession of narcotics and being unlicensed. The vehicle had a U-Haul dolly, bolt cutters, pry bar and numerous collectible items, which were similar in nature to the items left at the scene. Police were unable to confirm a victim at this time. The vehicle was towed for evidence and CSI photographs were taken of the items that were left at the scene, as well as the female’s vehicle and contents. The reporting party stated he would call back during the daytime with video and possible victim information.
Theft from Vehicle – 9:21 a.m. – 5100 block of Marcella – Between 11/25/20 and 1/17/21, an unknown suspect stole a box of keys from the victim’s 2015 Dodge truck. The keys accessed the victim’s storage unit at A1 and he confirmed that an unknown suspect had since accessed his storage unit as well, unknown loss at this time

January 19, 2020

Vehicle Burglary – 6:51 a.m. – 4200 block of Via Largo – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle via a window smash and stole a Nerf gun.
Grand Theft – 7:45 a.m. – 8900 block of Moody St. – Between 4:26 a.m. and 4:32 a.m., an unknown suspect stole an engine hoist and other miscellaneous tools valued at $1800 from the business property (left in the yard). The suspect was seen on video, dressed in a reflective uniform vest and jeans.
Traffic Collision – 11:33 p.m. – Lincoln east of Valley View – Officers were dispatched to the location regarding a solo vehicle non-injury traffic collision into three parked vehicles. Several witnesses observed the driver flee the scene southbound towards the college where he was located by police. The subject was arrested for misdemeanor hit and run and being an unlicensed driver.

January 20, 2020

Vehicle Burglary – 8:23 a.m. – 4300 block of Casa Grande Cir. – Between 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and the time of call, an unknown suspect broke into the victim’s vehicle by unknown means and stole a wallet.
Stolen Vehicle – 10:33 a.m. – 9500 block of Juanita – Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s truck. The vehicle was entered into the SVS system.

January 21, 2020

Assist Outside Agency – 12:45 a.m. – Beach/Orange – Buena Park PD requested assistance with a felony car stop for a stolen vehicle. 2 of our Officers assisted. The occupants surrendered without incident.
Grand Theft Report – 11:18 a.m. – 6400 block of Cantiles Ave. – Overnight, an unknown suspect stole golf clubs and watches from the victim’s unlocked vehicle. No suspect info or surveillance.

January 22, 2020

Follow-up Investigation – 3:28 p.m. – 5200 block of Orange Ave. – During follow-up investigation, detectives arrested a subject for burglary (storage units).
Suspicious Property – 4:11 p.m. – 5800 block of Katella Ave. – Employees located a handheld safe/briefcase on the 3rd floor emergency fire exit stairwell. Due to the circumstances, OC Bomb Squad was requested and responded to the scene to X-Ray the item. The found property was determined to be no threat. The owner of the property was contacted and the property was returned to him. Incident report was taken.

January 23, 2020

Pedestrian Check – 3:16 a.m. – Carson/Bloomfield – From a pedestrian check, a male subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Attempted Vehicle Theft – 6:38 p.m. – 4000 block of Orange Ave. – Between 6:00 p.m. and 6:10 p.m., an unknown suspect gained access into the victim’s blue 2000 Chevrolet Silverado by punching the door locks. The suspect tampered with the steering column and the ignition was also punched. The victim observed a possible suspect flee in a silver Honda Accord.

January 24, 2020

Burglary – 6:14 a.m. – 10900 block of Meridian Dr. – A citizen called to report the front window of the store that leads into the office had been smashed. Unknowns suspect(s) attempted to steal the safe.
Vehicle Burglary – 5:08 p.m. – 9800 block of Walker St. – Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., an unknown suspect forced entry into the victim’s vehicle by smashing a window. The loss was a laptop computer valued at approximately $1700.00.
