The Garden Grove Host Lions Club will be participating in the California Lions Project Care: Hunger, a statewide Lions Clubs Service Project to be conducted during the month of February, 2021. The Club will be collecting non-perishable food items for distribution to the homeless and needy through the charitable organization, H.O.P.E., a One-Stop Safety Net Center that provides swift access to critical services and resources, striving to alleviate food insecurity and homelessness in Garden Grove and throughout Orange County.
The purpose of the Project is to engage all California Lions Clubs of all sizes in a statewide community service program that is of such vital importance during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The Garden Grove Host Lions Club will be collecting non-perishable food items on Saturday, February 13 and 27 at its Clubhouse located at 9860 Larson Avenue in Garden Grove from 9:00 AM to Noon. All state and local COVID-19 health measures will be followed while the food collecting is occurring.
The goal of the Statewide Project is to collect and distribute 150,000 pounds of non-perishable food items throughout the state and the Garden Grove Host Lions hope to make a significant contribution to achieving that goal. Local Lions Club members will have the opportunity to engage in a meaningful project that will greatly benefit our community during these difficult times.
