Long Beach works to improve access to City Council, committee meetings

Access! Many of you know my passion for accountability; however, for residents to keep their government accountable, they have to have access to what policies, procedures, and programs are being considered, created, and approved.

With so many households transitioning from traditional cable to streaming content, many have lost access to a convenient way of watching the Long Beach Television (LBTV) channel. LBTV provides programs like our vaccination roll out, our COVID testing availability, updates on health orders, assistance programs, citywide events and happenings, and more.

As part of our ongoing work to give residents more access to public discussions, Long Beach is now live streaming City Council meetings on the LBTV YouTube channel. Now, residents and staff can view the City Council meetings online or through the YouTube app available on your smart device, whether it is a phone, tablet or TV. Visit and share this link so you can access these important discussions at your convenience.

Also coming soon, the City Management team is working to get all Council Standing Committees live-streamed through this new online channel. We will be sure to update you when this happens. For more information on Standing Council Committees and the latest changes, see the headline immediately below.

Last but not least, please see the latest Health Order and vaccination updates under our Tracking the Curve Report headline.

As always, I want to hear from you. My team and I are here to listen and help. Don’t hesitate to contact us at 562-570-5555 or [email protected] with any questions or needs.
