COVID drive-in vaccination clinic at Vons in Lakewood on Feb. 26

Vons-Albertsons supermarkets will be holding a COVID vaccination clinic in the Vons parking lot at their South & Woodruff store on Friday, Feb. 26.

They will have 500 vaccines, and as of noon time on Feb. 17, only 20 slots were reserved, leaving 480 slots open. But slots may fill up quickly, so please sign up soon if you are eligible. Vaccines can only be provided to those eligible under L.A. County rules, which at this time are those age 65+ and health care workers.

You must reserve in advance online at https://kordinator.mhealthcoach.net/vcl/1610405744296.

“This is great news,” said Mayor Todd Rogers, “and we thank Vons and its sister company Albertsons for doing it in Lakewood.”

“I encourage everyone in Lakewood who is eligible to sign up, and if you know someone who is eligible, please let them know. And if you think they need computer help to sign up, that would be a wonderful, neighborly thing to offer.”

“Lakewood, like most cities our size, does not control the distribution of vaccines or the rules for who is eligible,” said Rogers. “But my Lakewood City Council colleagues and I (and the Lakewood city team) are doing everything we can at the city level to bring vaccines to our residents just as quickly and conveniently as possible…and to publicize opportunities like this when they arise. Stay tuned for more opportunities like this in the weeks ahead.”
