February 4, 2021

Assault/Battery Report – 10:50 a.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – The reporting party was reportedly assaulted in the parking lot by one suspect, with a second suspect recording the assault while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Report taken.
Fraud/Forgery Report – 5:58 p.m. – 7300 block of Monterey Ln. – The reporting party believed that his Robinhood account was hacked. He was advised by his telecommunications company that a new SIM card had been purchased, and the RP did not request a new SIM card. The suspect was unknown and requested “.05” Bitcoin ($17,000) in order to not wipe out his entire Robinhood account. The RP was advised to deactivate his SIM card/phone, change the passwords on important account, attempt to contact Robinhood, an d to have no further contact with the suspect only to advise that a police report had been filed.

February 5, 2021

Municipal Code Violation – 7:15 a.m. – 4900 block of Berton Cir. – Police were alerted to a possible Municipal Code violation of possible digging at a residence and it was unknown if the resident or contractor had contacted Dig Alert or the City. The construction also began prior to 8 a.m. Party advised and will comply.
Petty Theft Report – 8:05 a.m. – 5000 block of Alder Ln. – A Glock 17 semiautomatic pistol was reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway.

February 6, 2021

Vehicle Check – 1:28 a.m. – Amberwood/Somerdale – Police contacted the driver of a vehicle who was out for a friend who made suicidal comments. Police contacted the subject, who stated that he was grieving the loss of his grandfather and got into an argument with a friend. He denied making suicidal comments and stated that he had no thoughts or intentions to harm himself or others. The reporting party stated that the chat was in an argument and the statements were vague with no direct threats of suicide. The subject was provided with information on resources, and he stated that he recently received counseling from a pastor.
Disturbance (Fight) – 2:54 a.m. – 5800 block of Trinidad Wy. (Buena Park) – La Palma Police observed a small group of individuals on Trinidad and believed that they were attempting pyros. Clothes were strewn across the street. Two males were on top of each other. The males were separated. Buena Park Police responded. One subject was arrested by Buena Park Police.

February 7, 2021

Suspicious Vehicle – 8:46 p.m. – 5600 block of Oak Dr. – A female subject was laying on the grass near a white minivan with the door open. OCFA responded and the subject was transported to the hospital. The vehicle was left locked and secured.
Vehicle Check – 10:59 p.m. – Walker/Coyote Creek – Police checked two vehicles at Walker and the flood control channel. One vehicle was attempting to deliver food to a transient but the key broke. Subjects were attempting to tow the vehicle out. A 37-year-old subject was arrested for possession of controlled substances and an outstanding felony warrant.

February 8, 2021

Stolen Vehicle Report – 7:31 a.m. – 6800 block of Marlin Cir. – A bobcat with a grapple bucket was reportedly stolen. It was last seen on Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. Report taken. A notice of locate was received from Riverside County Sheriff’s Office at 12:37 p.m. The vehicle was subsequently released to the owner.
Medical Aid – 2:04 p.m. – 8300 block of Walker St. – OCFA was responding for an 80-year-old subject who fell and possibly had a concussion. It was determined that the subject fell the day before and had since developed memory loss as well as chills. The subject was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

February 9, 2021

Medical Aid – 10:05 p.m. – 7300 block of Rampart Ln. – A 63-year-old male subject with a past history of heart attack was reportedly having trouble breathing. The subject refused to be transported to the hospital.
Traffic Stop – 10:44 p.m. – Valley View/Centerpointe – After performing a traffic stop, police found a meth pipe in the center console in plain view. Police then conducted a search and further investigation. Cypress Police Department was requested to assist. A 28-year-old female subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving/concealing stolen property, and appropriating lost property.

February 10, 2021

Found Property – 7:45 a.m. – 4600 block of La Palma Ave. – An 8-inch knife was found. Report taken.
Lost/Stolen Property – 8:13 p.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – The reporting party lost two Lebanese passports, one current and one expired, in Central Park on Feb. 8. Report taken.
Petty Theft Report – 11:13 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – The caller advised that a small bike was stolen. Report taken.

February 11, 2021

Fire – 4:43 a.m. – Coyote Creek/Del Amo – A fire was reported near the railroad tracks. The caller believed that a female transient may be in the area. A fire was confirmed and an encampment was located. Cypress Police Department notified. Fire extinguishers were deployed, and LA County Fire responded.
Disturbance (Subject) – 11:09 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A subject was reportedly refusing to leave. The subject had been warned for trespassing before. Party advised and will comply.
Disturbance (Group) – 11:50 a.m. – 7700 block of Valley Veiw St. – A fire alarm was triggered with no reset. There was no evidence of an emergency or fire. A 53-year-old subject was cited in the field for sending a false fire alarm.
