Casa Youth Shelter partners with Red Cross to sponsor blood drive

Casa Youth Shelter is happy to partner with the Red Cross for a blood drive on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 11:00am-5:00pm at our shelter at 10911 Reagan Street, Los Alamitos, CA. 90720.

The American Red Cross has a constant and ongoing need for blood and platelet donations. With the ongoing pandemic, the Red Cross needs the help of blood and platelet donors and blood drive hosts to meet the needs of patient care. You can help change a life through giving blood at Casa Youth Shelter on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 11:00am-5:00pm.

To schedule your lifesaving appointment, go to www.RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: casayouth.

The Red Cross is following FDA blood donation eligibility guidance for those who receive a COVID-19 vaccination, and deferral times may vary depending on the type of vaccine an individual receives. In most cases, there is no deferral time for individuals who received a COVID-19 vaccine as long as they are symptom free and feeling well at the time of donation. If you’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine, you’ll need to provide the manufacturer name when you come to donate. Upon vaccination, you should receive a card or printout indicating what COVID-19 vaccine was received, and we encourage you to bring that card with you to your next donation.

NEW! All blood donations are now tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

Visit redcrossblood.org/antibodytesting to learn more.

Streamline your donation experience and save up to 15 minutes by visiting RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions on the day of your appointment.

We look forward to seeing you there!
