In addition to the special honorees, the RTNA saluted the best in broadcast journalism in Southern and Central California. From breaking news to documentaries, awards for outstanding work will be presented to reporters, videographers, producers, writers, and managers at radio and TV stations from San Diego to Fresno.

In small market television, KBAK, Bakersfield won the “Golden Mike” for “Best Television 60 Minute Newscast.” KFTV, Fresno won top honors for “Best Television 30 Minute Newscast, while KBFX, Bakersfield got the “Golden Mike’ for “Best Television Daytime Newscast.”
