Senator Umberg releases statement on attacks on Atlanta-area spas

Senator Thomas J. Umberg (D-Santa Ana), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement today in response to the murder of eight people in Atlanta-area spas last night and an alarming increase in hate crime in general.

“The murders we witnessed in Georgia last night are unacceptable. I stand in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, who should not fear violence because of who they are. During this pandemic there has been an exponential increase hate crimes targeting the AAPI community. We must all do more to identify, arrest and prosecute the cowards responsible for these hate crimes. I want to thank members of the community who have taken an active role to ensure the safety and support of our local residents.”

  1. Sen. Umberg is jumping to the conclusion that this was a “hate” crime. While no one can doubt the murders were hateful (what murder isn’t?), it was committed by a man who frequented both targeted massage parlors/whorehouses for sex. He reportedly killed these women who he had sex with because he is a nut case, not because he was going after Asians. It amazes me that the liberals never miss an opportunity to divide us among racial lines. Senator Umberg should be decrying the human trafficking/slavery that has become rampant in these Asian massage parlors and work to put a stop to it. He should be equally outraged that the women and children coming across our southern border are being raped repeatedly by the drug cartels that are bringing them here. Human trafficking is a huge problem with the illegals coming into our country. Yet the Democrats have practically invited them & now don’t seem to give a damn about the heinous crimes being committed against them. They are only interested in creating more Democrat voters, never mind the cost to these exploited individuals and the cost to our own citizens.
