Poll: 58.3% of Californians would reject Gavin Newsom in 2022 election

The Nexstar Media Group’s six California Television Stations along with Emerson College published a poll that found that 58.3% of Californians want someone other than Governor Gavin Newsom in the 2022 election.

The statewide poll of more than 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3%.

The following statement was issued by the leading candidate to replace Gov. Newsom, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s communications director:

“Nearly 60 percent of Californians are ready to turn the page on Gavin Newsom’s failures. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are all ready for change. Gavin Newsom has ignored the needs of the people of California for too long. Kevin Faulconer is ready to provide a new direction and lead a California Comeback.” – John Burke, Communications Director, Faulconer for Governor.

This article was released by Faulconer for Governor 2022.

  1. The recall to me is mainly an opportunity to remove Newsom. I don’t care who takes his place, it could be the Lt. Governor for all I care. There is nobody well known and has charisma like there was when Gray Davis was recalled and Arnold Schwarzenegger came in. If the Calif Republican party can convince former Pres. Trump to appear and campaign, then good for them. That will cost them big$$ but having Trump campaign for someone will be a two edged sword. Trump lost in California by almost 30%. All that aside unless there are plenty of Democrats that have had enough of the pandemic and Newsom to vote for recall, the Republicans are flushing $millions down the toilet.

  2. The problem is that Kevin Faulconer and John Cox are considered RINOs by many Trump supporters. Neither one will receive enough votes to win.

My guess is that a Socialist running as a Democrat will enter the race because he/she thinks Newsom isn’t Socialist enough. Enough Democrats will vote for this Democrat (who is really a Socialist) and Republicans will split the vote. Even if they know the Democrat is a Socialist they will vote for him/her.

Newsom will be out and a Socialist will be in UNLESS Republicans rally around one candidate. (Please keep Kevin Muldoon and Michael Vo away from this race.)
