Veggiepalooza at the Fullerton Arboretum is online this year!
A sad casualty last year of Governor Newsom’s pandemic lockdown was the mammoth tomato and vegetable sale held as a fundraiser annually by the Fullerton Arboretum. That the folks at the Arboretum figured out how to hold the sale online is wonderful, although I will enthusiastically return to in-person browsing once that option is again available.
I just placed my own order of tomato seedlings in 3-inch pots:
- Jelly Bean Yellow
- Amish Gold
- San Marzano
- Black Zebra
- Indigo Rose
And, simply because they’re cheery and attract birds, I also ordered a six-pack of Mammoth sunflowers for our backyard.
The order was placed via email to the Fullerton Arboretum, based on an available plant list published some time ago.
The staff and volunteers will check the order against availability, and respond with a totaled bill and directions on how to pay. (You can include alternate choices in the original order email in case a primary preferred variety isn’t available.)
Once payment clears, an email will be sent with instructions on contact-less pick-up.
Now I have to get serious about preparing the planting beds!
