Assemblywoman Petrie-Morris appointed to Coastal Protection Select Committee and eight others

California State Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris is pleased to announce the select committees that she is assigned to for the 2021-22 legislative session. During a pivotal time in our State’s history, these committees will serve to address a number of pressing issues plaguing our state, including economic recovery and development, climate change, women’s rights and homelessness.

“My appointment to nine Assembly Select Committees will enable me advance critical priorities for Orange County,” said Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris (D-Laguna Beach). “I am eager to work alongside my colleagues to strengthen California’s economy, protect the health and safety of women and children, safeguard our planet from the threat of climate change and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.”

Assemblywoman Petrie-Norris has been appointed by Speaker Anthony Rendon to the following Select Committees:

About Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris

Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris represents California’s 74th District including Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Costa Mesa, Laguna Woods and parts of Irvine and Huntington Beach. She is the Chair of the Accountability and Administrative Review Committee and a member of Banking and Finance Committee; Jobs, Economic Development, and the Economy Committee; Revenue & Taxation Committee and Veterans Committee. After working her way through Yale University, where she double majored in Economics and English, Cottie had a successful 20-year career in finance and technology. She helped to build businesses and led teams at Fortune 500 corporations, small companies and start-ups. Cottie lives in Laguna Beach with her husband, Colin, their two sons, Dylan and Hayden, and their rescue dog, Flounder.
